Apple Podcast Affiliate Program: Apple is launching a new initiative to assist podcast producers in growing their listener base: affiliate marketing. Now, you can promote the very platform you use to broadcast your podcasts on.
The corporation’s “Apple Services Performance Partner Program,” which also operates to assist in the marketing of other Apple products such as Apple TV, Apple News, including Apple Books, is now evolving to feature paid podcasts. The upcoming “Apple Services Performance Partner Program for Apple Podcasts” will also be available to everyone.
But the organization feels it will be more beneficial to authors and producers who currently have a community and a variety of distribution platforms from which they can distribute these latest affiliate links.
As subscribers listen to a subscription podcast by clicking on one of the links, the podcast partner will earn a one-time fee equal to 50% of the podcast subscription cost after the subscriber has accumulated their first month of premium service.
For instance, if a subscription podcast charges $5 each month for listeners, the profit will be $2.50. This fee will be applied to any fresh subscriber that joined up via the affiliate service, with no limit. Podcast producers may also use the partner connections to advertise their own paying services, generating additional income.
While anybody may request to become a member of the affiliate program, there seems to be an acceptable process in place. This is mostly to prevent spammers from using the software and to ensure that anyone who signs up gets at least several advertising outlets from which they can share the links.
And, the sign-up form requests information such as how many networks are accessible as well as how the partner plans to utilize them to advertise the affiliate connections, among many other aspects. Everybody in the 170 countries worldwide where paying podcast subscriptions is eligible will be eligible to access the service.
When accepted and signed up, affiliate members would have ties to a web dashboard in which they can build connections (i.e. short URLs) in the same way as they can for every other affiliate program.
Besides, they can also generate several URLs for a single podcast, making it simpler to watch how effectively various channels do. The URLs can be published separately, linked to a “Listen on Apple Podcasts” tag or made accessible as just a QR code.
While live performances return, the latter might make much more sense, as it should have been printed on posters or leaflets circulated at a preview screening, for instance. It could also be used in other forms of advertisement, such as physical and electronic. And, subscription podcasts have almost always functioned, but until now, they mostly required paying a podcaster personally to gain entry to a personal RSS feed.
Subscriptions were often used by smaller websites, such as Stitcher, to even provide paid users with a variety of benefits, such as ad-free streaming and premium content. Moreover, both Apple and Spotify’s recent campaigns are aimed at luring artists to their sites, where they can take a share in subscription sales.
Spotify is suspending the 5% premium for the very first 2 years, whereas Apple is sticking to the normal formula of 30% in year one and 15% during year 2.
Though folks start signing up for the new partner program now, paying podcasts won’t be available till early next month, according to Apple. Whenever they do, affiliate program participants will be eligible to build ties and begin collecting profits on subscriptions. The Apple Podcast Affiliate Program’s core functions are monetization and application optimization.
Commissions on all eligible profit provided by links to Apple’s numerous stores can be received, and useful content including songs, Television programs, even audiobooks can be provided to an application to increase customer experience. Besides, tools such as Link Generator, Widget Creator, including RSS Feed Creator make it simple to generate links.
Apple’s Search API and EPF Data Feed also achieve the greatest connections possible, ensuring the software ideal for developers at all levels of expertise. And, the website also provides tracking of categories along with clicks and purchases through placements and promotions.
- Affiliate scheme for apps and mobile platform focused on connecting to useful Apple content
- The platform allows for application monetization and optimization.
- Link-building, project monitoring, and monetization are all possible with the complete complement of software.
Even at the announcement ceremony Apple CEO Tim Cook specifically introduced the subscription, adding that this was the hugest upgrade to Apple Podcasts ever since release.” Cook also mentioned that now the Apple Podcasts application has been revamped, with freshly modified series and episode pages that enable listening, following, and sharing podcasts simpler.
Moreover, the application will also have a new “Channels” option that will allow you to discover and suggest content from favored producers. This section would provide both free and paid channels, with exclusive incentives for premium subscribers And, the podcast channels themselves are collections of programs curated by authors, each with “unique names, explanations, and artwork,” according to Apple.
According to Apple, the application will also have a “Smart Play” icon that will enable audiences to instantly begin episodic programs from the most recent episode as well as serialized episodes from the start of each season. And, other enhancements include the ability to save specific episodes for offline streaming, an improved Search tab for easy access to Top Charts, as well as an improved Apple Podcasts Connect dashboard for podcasters.
Again, the dashboard enables producers to modify the metadata for their episodes, plan and handle show inventory, arrange shows into platforms, handle different users and functions, and monitor how well their podcast episodes are doing using modern performance statistics and analysis tools.
“15 years ago, Apple introduced podcasts to the marketplace, providing producers with a premier, free forum to educate, amuse, and motivate hundreds of millions of audiences worldwide,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s executive vice president of Web Software services, in a report.
Eddy also told that today, Apple Podcasts is the perfect way for fans to explore and watch millions of amazing episodes, and they are excited to usher in the next phase in podcasting through Apple Podcasts Subscriptions. He also added that they are thrilled to be able to bring this powerful digital medium to developers all over the planet, as well as they absolutely can not wait to see what they create with that as well.”
