Twitter’s spam/bot accounts
Bot accounts on Twitter represent less than 5% of the 229 million users on the social media giant, as shared by the Twitter team (after an internal review) to Elon Musk. Since Musk was often wary about the fake accounts that promoted spam content, he wanted to learn how Twitter came to this conclusion. But, he tweeted that he was still committed to the acquisition.

In an attempt to calculate the bot accounts, Musk shared that his team will perform a random sample of 100 followers on Twitter. He even invited others to follow the same process. “To find out, my team will do a random sample of 100 followers of @twitter. I invite others to repeat the same process and see what they discover,” he tweeted.
